What do you want?

Basically i'm starting up this thread to let people express what they want from Quake4?
This can be places you want to visit, things you want to see etc.

A couple of example (actually there what i want):
I want an opening cinematic similiar to Q2 where, this time, there would be a close up of the Q4 logo, and we'd have a bunch of voice-overs, then it would zoom out and the Q4 logo would explode.
Another thing i want is to visit the big-ship you originally arrived on. I think it could have been called the Phobos? Maybe the Stoggos could take over the ship, and you have to retake it, or the ship could be forced down on to the surface of Stroggos and you come accross the ruin of it.
One other thing: Could they make it clear that the guys name is Bitterman, even maybe give him a 1st name. I think a lot of people would have missed the fact that Bitterman was who you were.
Oh yeah, and one other thing: A Dopefish Cameo.

That't it from me folks. What do the rest of you all have to say?

I want to climb on the big fat gun and shoot with her (I mean the big fat gun which you see sometimes in the background from some levels outside)

Lets get serious.
What I really wanted was more Stroggos environments.
New enemies and challenges related!
Don´t like Shubb Niggurath´s dimention that much...

Quake III environments should be dropped forever!

A couple of other things.
I want Q4, like Q2, to be unit/hub based. I want to go into a unit/hub with set mission objectives and you then have to carry these objectives out. It's no secret that Raven software have not done a game with units/hubs for sometime. I hope they make a return to them in this one.
Let's have all those tortured soilders back, love those guys.
I do want a unit that would take place in orbit above Stroggos, and i mean more than just the finel hub. I mean a fairly big unit.

Also who will be doing the music for Q4? Sonic Mayhem did the music for Q2, it would seem only right for them to the music for Q4. Or will Raven be using there guy?

I want quake 4 to have that opening cinamatic of the Q4 symbol (like the other guy said that was really neat in Q2) I alsow ant the enviroments to be alittel mroe varied than the opriginal quake2, and to have more outdoor levels. I also want it to be really imersive and long.

Oh God let there please be some kind of speed control up to 200% or so. The multiplayer should be as quick as Quake 3. If it's slower, that's a step backwards. In single player, fine, whatever, if you want to make it slow, maybe have a speed control in there as a bonus for us speed freaks. Make the multiplayer fly.

We don´t even know if it will have any MP...
Just like Unreal II, it must be focused in a singleplayer experience...
That´s what the other were. A major SP game with some MP maps to get along.

I think it should have a similar mix of MP and SP with a few more MP maps ( areamke of DM-1 AKA the edge AKA the best DM map evar!) but an even bigger emphasis on SP.

My wishlist:

More vegetation!
The Edge!
The Rail-gun must be in!
Lots of different MP modes & options!
Good story!
Awesome, fearsome aliens!
Beautiful environments!
No keycard missions!
One stealth mission - I'm not a fan of them, but if it's done right it could be really good for the game!

Now here comes one of the things I want the most in the single-player part of the game:

PUZZLES

Games barely have situations where you have to think. This is one of the things games really lack, and I hope Raven will try to create some puzzle-like situations... don't take this wrong - I don't want there to be an area where you have to open a door by placing three boxes in the correct order. I want something less obvious, like throwing a stone or some metall piece into some machine (with lots of cog-wheels that must swirl around for the machine to work) so that the machinery stops. The rock could be picked up at a nearby beach or perhaps something explodes inside a building and lots of metal pieces gets loose and you could like take a piece of pipe or something. Perhaps it could even work by throwing you machine gun or pistol between the wheels (if you're willing to lose a weapon). I think you know what I mean.[/b]

Well...
Did you ever played Myst?
It could take days to solve a single puzzle in that one...and the game is full of puzzles.
But it´s not a shooter.

What I want - is a great shooter. I don't care how they do it - they did it before, they can do it again.

I haven't played myst. but I have played just about every other adventure games there is. But I meant FPS games don't require us to think - I think that should change.

Nope.
That´s why you got Adventure games, Action games and Shooters.
Do you want to race and air stall in shooters too?
You can have all those elements mixed in a game;

-Thinking
-Puzzles
-Hard quests
-Racing & driving
-Airplane rides
-Etc...

But in the end you´ll end up with a fiasco that no one will like.
A good shooter is just that: a shooter!
If you want riddles or quests go play RPG´s or Adventure games, there are a lot of good ones out there.
